We are so excited that you are interested
in joining the Garage Band!
Here at Garage, we believe that music serves as a huge way to worship God for who He is as our Father and our Creator. Being on the Garage Band is one of the ways Garage empowers you to lead others and to show what it looks like to worship God. On this team, our goal is to help you not only grow in your musical skills, but also in your relationship with Jesus through music, and in discipleship during rehearsals and in personal practice time.
God has given each of us a particular set of skills to build His Kingdom, and playing and instrument or singing on a worship team are a couple of these skills. On this team, our goal is to help you find and build your talents as a musician, and push you to lead worship on and off stage.
Audition Process:
Middle School: We will decide on a Wednesday night for you to come in at 6:30pm to either sing or play 2 songs (one of your choice, and one worship song).
High School: We will decide on a Sunday night for you to come in at 6:30pm to either sing or play 2 songs (one of your choice, and one worship song).
Upon moving forward in this process, we will decide on a week for you to come in and rehearse with the band from 4:30-6pm to see how rehearsing with others goes. This night is simply for rehearsing and does not require you to play for Garage that night.
Additional Comments:
When playing in the Garage Band, remember that rehearsal is from 4:30-6pm. If you play an instrument, be sure to be in the room 15 minutes before the start of rehearsal.
If you are in middle school, Garage is on Wednesday nights. If you are in high school, Garage is on Sunday nights.
Upon joining the team, we will add you to Garage’s planning program called Planning Center. This is a church-wide program were you can access the songs and have the resources you need to practice for the night you are playing. You will receive a log-in through email to access the resources.
***If you have a school email, your school’s server may try to reject Planning Center requests. We recommend creating a personal email for this.
